- Most victims of bike theft can accurately describe their bike when reporting a theft to the police
- The majority of bikes recovered by Police are not adequately marked for later identification
- You should record all details about your bike and take a photograph for future reference
Unfortunately most victims of bike theft cannot accurately describe their bike to police when reporting the incident.
The other problem that compounds the situation is that owners do not adequately mark their bikes for later identification either. This makes it very difficult to trace the owner if the bike is located by police.
This form will allow you to record all relevant details about your bike and if you have an electronic photo as well you can also include a copy onto the form. That way if you ever have your bike stolen, all the information the police require will be close at hand.
